What is Skin Lumps & Bumps?
These include skin tags, viral warts, sebaceous cysts, papillomas, freckles, benign moles, or unsightly scars from previous trauma or surgery.
As a full time NHS plastic surgeon working in a specialist skin unit, I am happy to offer specialist advice and, if appropriate, refer you into the NHS for treatment. This means you can be sure that anything genuinely concerning will be treated appropriately. We can perform much of the surgery privately if you wish. For those wanting to avoid surgery I am happy to recommend some highly trained dermatologists I regularly work with.

The Consultation.
The initial consultation will involve a full medical history and examination. Photographs will be taken and we will then discuss your options. I will happily advise you on the various treatments available to you, some of which may not be surgery, and refer you elsewhere if necessary. If we have concerns about skin cancer then we can decide if you would like to be transferred to the NHS or continue with private treatment. All patients receive a comprehensive letter detailing their options.
The Planning.
If you decide to proceed with surgery we will arrange for the surgery to be done at a second appointment. We do not routinely combine surgery with your first appointment.
The Procedure.
The surgery is performed either in our bespoke treatment room, or in main theatre depending on the size, number and location of the lesions and your wishes. You can decide whether to have your lesion sent away for histological analysts for peace of mind,
The Aftercare.
You will have a clinic appointment for any stitches removal that is necessary. You will then get a follow up appointment to check on you scar quality and provide feedback on any histology results.

I recently underwent a procedure to remove malar bags, I found when googling/researching I mainly found reviews on lower blepharoplasty. I did find a patient who had the procedure I was looking for with Mr Will Holmes and they were very pleased with the result. So after lengthy research I booked a consultation with Mr Holmes who instantly put me at ease with his knowledge and humour !! The procedure went well and I’m very pleased. The recovery took longer than I thought but again this was going on a lower blepharoplasty and not malar bags which sit lower. All I can say is I’m so glad I had I done and trust the process !!! It’s worth every penny

- Scarring: poor or lumpy or stretched
- Keloid/hypertrophic scars – rare but usually require further treatment

- Nerve damage – this is rare and can be discussed at your consultation
