Reconstructive.
Breast Reconstruction in Yorkshire.
Breast reconstruction forms the largest part of Mr Holmes's NHS practice. Reconstruction after a mastectomy can use an implant or your own tissue (autologous reconstruction), and the options are discussed in full at consultation. Referrals are accepted from across Yorkshire and beyond.
Breast reconstruction
Mr Holmes offers breast reconstruction that does not involve a free flap privately. The consultation covers both implant-based and autologous options.
DIEP flap reconstruction
A DIEP flap rebuilds the breast with skin and fat from the lower abdomen, joined to blood vessels in the chest using microsurgery. It is the most robust option where radiotherapy is part of treatment, and can be done at the same time as the mastectomy or later. Surgery takes 6–8 hours with 2–3 days in hospital, and is carried out on the NHS at Pinderfields Hospital.
Mr Holmes operates at Spire Methley Park Hospital, Leeds (LS26 9HG) and consults at Coppergate Clinic, York (YO1 9NR). To arrange a consultation, call 01134 601796 or send an enquiry.
