Thigh Lift.
About the procedure
What is a Thigh Lift?
Thigh lift surgery is not performed commonly. It works best in those who have achieved massive weight loss yet developed residual fat and skin wrinkling affecting the inner thigh region that hangs down and rubs when they walk.
Some people have predominantly excess skin, usually with thin thighs, that can look unsightly in a bikini or underwear. This requires excision without liposuction.
Younger patients with large thighs can often benefit from liposuction alone, and avoid a scar.
The scar is the man drawback of thigh lifting surgery. We do our best to hide the scar on the inside of the leg but it will be visible.

The Consultation.
Patients coming to see me for thigh lifting surgery are usually patients who have lost a lot of weight and are looking for a combination of treatments to address excess skin. We will have a chat about what your aims and expectations are. This will then be followed by a detailed medical history, clinical examination and photographs. The medical history is important to ensure you are optimised for any potential surgery. You will then be shown a presentation including pictures of pre and post surgery results. The presentation will discuss the surgery including the risks, benefits and alternatives. Following the consultation you will receive a summary letter detailing our discussion and this will be complimented with information leaflets to help you make a decision on what you would like.
The Planning.
You weight must be stable to maximise the benefit of surgery. You must not be an active smoker. The choice of surgery will depend on the areas you want to have addressed and the amount of skin and fat.
This is a good opportunity for a friend to come for support. We advise no holiday abroad within two months of surgery.
The Procedure.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic. There are no drains and we use a special glue dressing to enable you to shower the next day. Most patients are mobile the evening following surgery and able to go home the next day.
The Aftercare.
You will be given medicated body wash to use daily to reduce your risk of wound infection. You will be seen weekly until your wounds have healed and then as required following scar advice.

Patient Reviews
I had a Tummy Tuck / Abdominoplasty in February 2020. Mr Holmes was amazing from the first consultation to my last check up. I couldn’t recommend him more. I felt at ease the whole time, considering it been a sizeable operation. He explained everything so thoroughly, so much so that I wasn’t left with any questions myself before the procedure. The result of my operation was and still is outstanding. The aftercare was fantastic, I had regular check ups to make sure I was healing okay. If I was ever to have any more cosmetic surgery, I would always seek Mr Holmes to carry it out. Thankyou again for everything.
